- My professional trajectory started as a Brazilian environmental journalist in 1987. I worked as a reporter and afterwards editor of the environmental supplement of the national newspaper “Estado de Minas” for 17 years. At the same time, I got my bachelor in Psychology and, for several years, worked as psychoanalyst as well. In 2003, I was a Reuters Fellow at the Oxford University, UK, where I did a specialization course on sustainable consumption and production (SCP). In 2007 I finished my master degree in Philosophy at the Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM) at the University of Oslo, Norway, approaching discourse analysis and sustainable consumption and production.
Nowadays I live in Norway, and cover environmental issues from a global perspective for the Brazilian mass media. I write for the environmental supplement “JB Ecológico” of the national newspaper “Jornal do Brasil”, and for the Brazilian environmental magazine “Ecológico”, which is distributed for the national politicians, governmental environmental departments and NGOs. I am also developing a journalistic portal at the Internet called ‘Conexao Verde’ or ‘Green Connection’, but it is under construction yet.
On the international level, I work as a communications consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Paris. Moreover, I am developing the PhD project “E-call to action? Online journalistic narratives and practices in global climate change coverage” for the Department of Social Anthropology of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Bergen, Norway. I am also a Danida Fellow and will be covering COP15 in Copenhagen.
