I am currently a science communicator (or, more accurately, community awareness facilitator) for several collaborative Physics research centres spanning a number of institutions across Australia.
Am often looking for ways to work with others to create mutually beneficial communications projects and am a bit experienced now with remote teaming/collaborations. Am looking to work more with new media for optimal communications outcomes (accessibility!)
We are trialling something at the moment in order to make quantum physics more accessible - early days on a shoestring budget so we will see how it goes - you can see the initial project launch here: http://www.quests.tv - this project doubles as an attempt at public communication of science and technology as well as a student communications mentoring program (not to mention good practice for the physicist PhD students we interview).
I love my job.
