I am an assistant professor at Michigan State University (Ph.D. in Eco. Dev., MIT; MS in EECS, MIT; BS in Computer Sci., Nanjing University, China). My research foci include: innovation strategies of domestic firms, technology policies, ICT and biotech industries, and planning in Asia. I have studied the catching up of domestic high-tech firms in China and India, with a little bit touch of Singapore and Malaysia. I have also researched on innovation systems of China, Japan, and US. I have worked at United Nations University in Japan for three years as a postdoctoral fellow on science and technology development. My passion lies in innovation capability development of domestic companies in catching-up economies and how technology policies can facilitate this. I am also an associate editor of International Journal of Business System Research.
