I am a 27 year old Sub Editor in Kenya. I am widely travelled, seeking to understand how developing countries can use science to sustainably exploit resources and provide better lives to their citizens and visitors. I also seek simple ways to disseminate this information to the public and policy makers.

Obviously they have to target an audience that is consonant with the medium in which they publish; they have to be attended to. I think to be effective, however, they have to try to provide information that their audience needs, not just to get readers. And of course, they have to provide good quality information. Ideally, they should stimulate interest, and provide leads to the reader to get more.
