Dambaru Ballab Kattel permanent residence of remote village of Nepal, graduated in M.Sc on Hydrology and Meteorology, with first division, from Tribhuvan University since 1999. He completed his masters’ thesis entitled “A General Review of Climate Change and Its Impacts in Nepal”. With his contribution in science and technology in Nepal Mr. Kattel was honored by National Academic Talent Award on Science and Technology in 2005.

The interest of research topic of Mr. Kattel is Climate Change and Glacier. In 2007 he completed a research work on Warming of the Kathmandu Valley: Promotion towards Global Warming on Behalf of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. Similarly in 2008 he completed another research work on Climatic Types, their Distribution and Changes of Different Micrometeorological Stations in Kathmandu Valley, the research work has recently published in Nepal Journal of Science and Technology. Some other two reports he has already been published.

He also involved as a team member and as coordinator on different National Level Conference, Seminar, and Workshop and Training program and also worked as a resource person. The programs were organized by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, and some other organization as well.

Mr. Kattel was involved in various professional organizations after completion his masters’ degree. He worked as a scientific officer at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. Nepal Academy of Science and Technology is a leading organization on science and technology in Nepal. And also he is experienced as university level teaching. Particularly he worked as a visiting faculty on the Climatology and Meteorology for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Level at College of Applied Sciences, affiliated to Tribhuvan University. He was also worked as a research officer at Society of Environmental Journalist Nepal. Apart from this he also worked as different position in different organization.

Mr. Kattel is also a media person in Nepal. He is a program producer for Television and Radio and writer for Nepalese publications since 1991. He published more than 500 popular articles related to science and environment in different publications and produced nine popular Television programs, some radio programs and more than 50 documentaries.

Now Mr Kattel has been working as a PhD student at Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing from 2009. His PhD research topic is “Comparative Study of Glacier Fluctuations and Climate Warming Between Tibet and Nepal”.

Thanks for response. Basically climate change is my interest particularly Climate Modelling. I am also from the Meteorology Background. How can we develop the climate model in the context of complex topography of Nepal.
