Thank you Barbara. I'm glad to be your friend. I saw your interests. Nomadism studies are one of my passion. I hope, one day, to write the book Bruce Chatwin hasn't the time to write.
I'm also interested in megacities and how an eco-sustainable development could support the urban, human wellbeing. Last but not least, I'm thinking to get a PhD focused on Sustainable Development with a core in Environmental Policies. I'm looking for a good school. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for the tip on ecodesign network O2. I have not heard of them. I will check them out and am happy to have you as a friend :) What exactly do you do now?
Hi Barbara,
Thanks for your note - likewise, if you ever make it to the Washington DC area, let me know. I have been to IIED twice - hope to make it back sometime soon.
Hi Barbara,

Hello Barbara
I remember seeing your name around at SciDev.Net but I think this is the first time I've seen the face (much nicer to be able to think of people as people ...revolutionary, really!) now I have to work out why Padma isn't using her photo on the network!
Please introduce yourself and explain why you want to join this network. Membership may be denied for people who do not answer this question in sufficient detail
I'm staff writer at IIED and have worked at or with the Food and Agriculture Organization, International Maritime Organization, DFID, the Central Office of Information, charities (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, Christian Aid, Minority Rights International), New Scientist, Nature and SciDev.Net, as well as several book publishers. I'm hugely interested in megacities vis-a-vis climate change, nomadism in our time, the history of Islam past and present, nutraceuticals, radical psychology, ecodesign and ethology.

Will look forward to that. I lived in DC in the late 1970s/early 1980s and have fond memories of hanging out round Dupont Circle...
Am also looking forward to reading the Post-Normal Times!
Take care,
Barbara

Yep, I was Virtual Subeditor for years there! I'm sure TV will get her photo on soon.
