Crescent Students Urged to Embrace Their Purpose

Students of Crescent University, Abeokuta have been urged to embrace their purpose by helping others, investing in others and making a difference in life.
Speaking at the eleventh matriculation ceremony of the institution founded in 2005 by the former judge of the world court, His Excellency Judge Bola Ajibola, Mrs Temitope Ganiyah Fajingbesi of Impact Africa counseled the matriculants asking them what seeds they were going to sow for the next four years.
A total of 548 from College of Law,Natural and Applied Sciences, Information and Communication Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Post Graduate Studies were matriculated.
"Your religious identity should not be based on your physical identity,how long or short your hijab is or the length of your beard", Fajingbesi had said, urging the fresh students to get their degree to help the needy, the orphan and the widow in the future.
In his remarks,the founder and proprietor, Prince Bola Abdul Jabbar Ajibola stressed that Crescent University had the wherewithal to enrich its students with morals and dedication to the fear of the Creator.
X-raying the what he termed education plus of the university, Judge Ajibola said that this would prevent breeding academic beasts in the country and beyond.
Earlier, the vice chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila had instructed all the students to pledge to " the creed" of the university, advocating that they should make the best use of the golden opportunity presented by their admission into the university.
Prof. Gbajabiamila directed the fresh students to read after him the 12-point creed of the university where they pledged to say " no to cultism, drug abuse and examination malpractice" as the vices were avenues for self-destruction which could also send them away from the university.
Congratulating the students, he said " you are lucky to be among the 50% of applicants who are able to scale through JAMB cut-off points for admission this session.
