Please introduce yourself....
I work in London as the press officer for the International Institute for Environment and Development. As a former journalist (news editor of SciDev.Net) and former scientist (doctorate in rain forest ecology), I am interested in ways of improving the communication of research findings that are relevant to public policy in general and sustainable development in particular. I set up the Research and Media Network for journalists, science communicators and researchers to share information, contacts and opportunities. I am also a freelance illustrator, most recently of the zoology textbook Extraordinary Animals by Ross Piper - http://ms-illustrator.blogspot.com/

I am a fellow Brit. living in Manchester. I have joined at Maria Andriana;s request. I am not into the sort of research as many of the members are involved. All with v. impressive research programmes. great for all to interact with others with similar interests.
So congratulations!

Well, I am part of a think tank here at the European Comission level in Brussels ... Barroso is definitely looking for people that can help formulate an answer to all the dynamism coming out of the USA and MIT in particular ... sucking up about 60% or so of all inventions from Europe.
If this is interesting... just give me a skype: SvenAERTS

Hi Mr Mike
Hope you are doing well.
We are looking for freelancers for the children's magazine of Dawn — Young World.
For that I need to send a message to all the members of Research and Media Network. Is there any group email address that can be used to send a message to all? May be this way we can find more writers from diverse backgrounds.

Best Regards,
Sahar Majid

Hi Mr Mike
Hope your fine.
Below is the URL of my blog. I have especially created this blog to have opinion regarding the issue: "How to make global warming an interesting subject for common people." This issue is the topic that I have selected to write for PANOS feature programme.
Your comments are valuable for me.

Hi Mike, long time no see. I just found this site by accident, and it looks like a great idea. I'm having to do increasing amounts of research communication these days. Anyway, hope all's well with you and maybe we'll get a chance to catch up some time.
