Esther Nakkazi is now a Knight Science Journalism fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 2007/08. Before that she was a reporter with the weekly, regional The EastAfrican newspaper a product of Nation Media Group Ltd www.nationmedia.com/eastafrican published in Nairobi, Kenya and distributed in four countries of east Africa Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
Esther is basically a science journalist writing in-depth articles on the environment, health and ICT issues in the region for The EastAfrican newspaper and a member of the World Federation of Science Journalists.
She is the oneworld volunteer editor for the Ugandan guide http://uk.oneworld.net/guides/uganda/development and a 2006 winner of the Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) award on Africa on Information Society http://www.uneca.org/aisi.
Esther Nakkazi is also the winner of the 2007 ‘Tunza Watoto wa Africa’ Journalism award on children and HIV/Aids from the African Network for Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN).
She also corresponds for other international publications like the newly established The Women’s International Perspective www.thewip.net in the US and Islamonline in Egypt, Cairo as well as RealHealth news, a UK based publication.
