I was an editor and columnist and contributed articles to various Burmese/Myanmar publications while in Rangoon,Burma. In 1988 November, I became a member of National League for Democracy led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Due to my political belief, I was detained and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment by the then junta. I fled Burma in 2001 to escape next arrest. I am now a freelance writer and still writing articles and commentaries in Burmese and English in various periodicals and online journals. I am also vice president of the Burma Media Association which is affiliated with the Paris-based Reporters Sans Frontiers.
